    Detailed Job Description

    There is a critical need to assist the PA Program to effectively maintain academic quality and implement assessment and evaluation methods designed to meet accreditation standards. The Coordinator will provide centralized support to the PA Program to enhance academic quality and student success through comprehensive assessment processes and best practices focused on continuous progress in student learning and use of data to inform improvements.  The PA Program is required to assess students, all aspects of the program, and the clinical sites. The Coordinator is responsible for working with the PA Program Director on the continuing accreditation efforts and implementing the assessment plan for the PA Program. This position will also support the required evaluation of the curricular and administrative aspects of the program (e.g., operational policies, admissions). The Coordinator is responsible for assistance needed to write and submit routine ARC-PA-related reports. The Coordinator will work closely with the Program Director to develop strategy, set goals, and develop/implement procedures to maintain program accreditation.

    Major responsibilities:  

    • Provide leadership and support to Program Director for accreditation, assessment, and evaluation
    • Provide assistance with comprehensive self-assessment of all phases of the PA program including sponsorship, all operational policies, and the review process
    • Assist with implementation of the Physician Assistant Program Level Outcomes Assessment Plan (PLOAP)
    • Manage and ensure data and documentation collection for the PA Program meets ARC-PA Standards (four elements of analysis)
    • Assist PA Program faculty with data analysis to guide conclusions, recommendations, and decisions (feedback loop)
    • Provide support for the development and refinement of all aspects of program level outcomes assessment including benchmarks, metrics, and effective approaches to using results to guide decisions and changes to improve the program
    • Provide support to the Program Director and faculty to evaluate the curricular and administrative aspects of the program
    • Work with Program Director to prepare all annual and other PA accreditation reports
    • Maintain expertise in all ARC-PA accreditation standards and interpretations of requirements for those standards through self-study and training
    • Assist the Program Director with assessment processes including; monitor, measure, and document that each student has met the program expectations including summative evaluation; help provide plan for students who do not achieve level of performance required
    • Work with Program Director to regularly facilitate semester meetings with PA program faculty to review and analyze data (course grades, pass rates, etc.)
    • Support specialized accreditation efforts for other programs in CHST

    Required Minimum Qualifications

    • Advanced degree-MS required
    • Three plus years’ experience in the following areas: leading/managing accreditation-related activities, data analysis, program assessment or evaluation, preference to those with these skills connected to medical training (e.g., licensed Physician Assistant)
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of assessment methods, instruments, benchmarking and best practices
    • Synthesize and analyze quantitative and qualitative data
    • Manage multiple and varied tasks
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work with students, faculty, staff, administrators and accreditors
    • Prepare and present reports effectively
    • Advanced verbal and written communication skills
    • Collaborative and team-oriented work style
