    REPORTS TO                           

    Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the Office of Information Technology with strong dotted line to Academic Affairs (two Divisional Deans and the Faculty Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning)



    • Collaborate with faculty members in the development or conversion of courses for online and hybrid learning modalities including the selection of appropriate technological,  instructional and assessment strategies while meeting the objectives of the course and honoring the academic goals of the institution.
    • Support faculty as needed in the use of instructional technology in developing online courses.
    • Manage and track the course development process. Provide timely formative feedback and assistance to faculty for the enhancement of hybrid and online courses.
    • Recommend innovative design, format, and/or technological changes to better adhere to delivery options for the course.
    • Effectively lead instructional workshops and presentations on innovative strategies to enhance teaching and learning.
    • Build online lesson materials using faculty content, other instructional content, software applications (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Articulate, Audacity), and Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard)
    • Collaborate with faculty on developing instructionally appropriate rich media (e.g., video, audio, and/or interactive).
    • Co-chair the Quality in Distance Education Committee (QDEC) and serve as the committee's liaison to the CIO.
    • Maintain media production studio including equipment, software, and schedule.
    • Manage project timelines for instructional design projects.
    • Stay informed about instructional technologies and curricular best practices.
    • Assist with accessibility needs in keeping with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
    • Other duties as assigned.



    • Master's Degree in Instructional Design, Education Technology, Higher Education or related disciplines preferred.
    • Experience in higher education with a fluency in pedagogical modalities preferred.
    • Experience with course design aimed at actively engaging students and meeting the needs of adult learners preferred. Familiarity with common instructional design principles and best practices (e.g., ADDIE, Integrated or Backwards Design, formative feedback, etc.)
    • Proficient with rich media production experience (please include demo file of capabilities).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work both collaboratively and independently as needed.
    • Proficiency with Content or Learning Management Systems (e.g., Blackboard)
    • Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere) preferred.
    • Expertise in MS Office.
    • Experience working on project teams to accomplish tasks and milestones in a timely manner.
