Shared Governance Survey

    The President asked me to see if anyone has a shared governance survey that you use internally. We participated in the SUNY Wellness Survey.

    I think she's looking for something to stimulate discussion about how to improve communication especially constructive dialogue. This brings a number of approaches to mind for me. I'm starting with her initial inquiry to see if others have any tools for assessing their shared governance process and effectiveness.

    I have the results form the SUNY Wellness survey and I could create a survey based on the responses from that survey but we'd like to learn more about what others are doing.

    Hi Nancy,

    FLCC is embarking on an internal "governance audit." We will eventually have a survey and I am sure that we will have question related to communication included. My office (Assessment, Planning and Continuous Improvement) is not leading this effort, but is involved.  I would honestly see if someone at your college subscribes to the SUNY IR listserv or get in touch with the SUNY Faculty Council of Community Colleges. I believe they have resources on governance.
